Feeling Forgotten?

To all of my religious readers, I promise you have not been forgotten!  Right now I'm going through the hardships of mid-terms,and am up to my neck in papers. My mother's last words to me as I boarded the plane to Australia for five months were, "I expect straight A's."  Needless to say, I've been putting my nose to the grindstone this week.  As daunting as it is,though, I think I'll make it out alive.  You have my word a plethora of updates will be posted after Friday of this horrid week :)  Love to all you Fairburians/Foresters/Blonoer's.

P.S. I have a request for you, should there be a thunderstorm in your near future (lightning, rain, and thunder--I want the full affects people) please take the time to enjoy it for me.  I am CRAVING a good thunderstorm, but it would appear I am in the driest city of Australia.

Little Joey was Yummy

I have officially eaten a roo burger, and yes, it was delicious.  Previously I had been told that kangaroo meet tasted gamey and was not very good.  However, I beg to differ.  The meat is actually one of the healthiest red meats one can eat, with little fat in it.

Bringing Them Home Report

On the removal of Aboriginal children from their families:

Because [my mother] wasn't educated, the white people were allowed to come in and do whatever they wanted to do - all she did was sign papers. Quite possibly, she didn't even know what she signed ... The biggest hurt, I think, was having my mum chase the welfare car - I'll always remember it - we were looking out the window and mum was running behind us and singing out for us. They locked us in the police cell up here and mum was walking up and down outside the police station and crying and screaming out for us. There was 10 of us.

Thou Shall Not Covet Thy Neighbor's House

Well then bless me Father for I have sinned:

And yes, this is a lime tree in someone's front yard.

The Perth Zoo 136

In this video, the bird that sounds like it's being murdered is an Australian crow. Identical to a crow from back home in appearance, but certainly not in its caw.

"Being comfortable in your own skin and content with your own company is a magical gift to yourself and everyone in your life."
